Even after we brought our puppy, Scarlette, home, Madalyn was happy to answer questions or concerns that we had. She frequently checked up on us to make sure everything was going smoothly with our puppy's transition home.

“It's hard to believe it's been 2.5 years now since we adopted our amazing Australian Shepherd, Chili. What a wonderful experience it was to work with both Red Forrest Aussies, his co-breeder, and Bitterroot Aussies, who provided the hands on care for his mama and helped bring our beautiful boy into this world. Madalyn and her husband, Ryan, provided excellent care and training throughout the entire process. They made sure the puppies were all healthy, happy, and well loved before they went to their forever homes. I know dogs, like people, are born with a certain personality, but I am 100% certain that the love, training, and excellent early handling of our sweet Chili, while in Bitterroot's care, added to his amazing temperament. “We are raising our fifth Aussie, Nikki, who we got from Madalyn and who is now two years old. Nikki is the sweetest, friendliest, and most well-mannered dog. Madalyn did a fantastic, very hands on job breeding and raising this wonderful girl dog! When we brought Nikki home, she was already very well socialized with dogs, people, and children. She absolutely loves meeting everyone and greets strangers wherever she goes. When Nikki was about 4 months old, Madalyn organized and hosted a “puppy party” to bring together all the puppies from the litter and the owners. It was a great idea and very well attended, the dogs had a great time together and it was fun for the owners to see all the puppies from the litter playing with each other. Madalyn very obviously is dedicated to what she does, and when we are ready for another Aussie to add to our family we will definitely be reaching out to her again.” -Tina
“We knew we wanted to adopt another Aussie puppy, but were concerned about finding the right breeder who was both trustworthy and showed their puppies the love and care we would want our new dog to receive. As soon as we met Madalyn and met the doggies at Bitterroot Aussies we knew we had made the right choice.
Madalyn is a true dog lover, which is apparent in everything that she does. When we met her adult Aussies we were astonished at how beautiful and well behaved they were. Also, the puppies all seemed super happy and eager to interact with visitors.
Further, Madalyn made the entire process of adopting a puppy super easy and stress free. We were able to meet the puppies on numerous occasions and were never made to feel pressured or rushed. We also received a binder full of every single document about our puppy you could ever want, including vaccine records, vet records, genetic testing records and documents for properly registering our Aussie.
Also, Madalyn was friendly and engaging and answered every question we had, including the numerous questions our kids had about the puppies. Madalyn also continued to provide valuable insight during the first couple of months after we adopted our puppy and was always willing to answer questions or comment on pictures. We enjoyed working with Madalyn so much and were so impressed by her knowledge of all things Aussie that we have used her for dog training sessions for our puppy (even though there are countless dog trainers whose offices are closer to us).
Our Aussie is now almost two (2) years old and she is simply amazing. She is the perfect combination of smart, fun, affectionate and silly. Although we like to think she is such an awesome dog because of the awesome family she joined (haha), we know for sure that the love and care she received from Madalyn and the crew at Bitterroot Aussies played a huge part in molding her into the dog that she is today.

“My beautiful red tri Aussie, Ruby, is almost two years old now, and she has grown into such a sweetheart! Ruby is my fifth shepherd, and she is by far the most mellow while still having all that Aussie joy and personality. She is an “up for anything” kind of dog. In the same day, Ruby is happy to go for a walk downtown, play tug-of-war at the park, run through the apple orchards, and then curl up on the couch and watch K-dramas with me.
Ruby’s temperament has been well balanced since she was a puppy. She is not reactive to other dogs on our walks, loves children, rarely barks, has been very easy to train, and doesn’t spook easily. Trains, busy downtown noises, and even fireworks don’t seem to bother her much. She also recalls well and stays close to me when we are hiking off leash. I have owned shepherds for many years, and Ruby really is something special. She and I have a deep bond. I love her so much.
I am so grateful for getting a puppy from Bitterroot Australian Shepherds and would absolutely recommend Madalyn to anyone looking for a well-raised Aussie to become part of their family. Madalyn is incredibly knowledgeable and puts so much care into raising her puppies.
